Yoga Nidra - put simply

Yoga nidra, or "yogic sleep," is a guided relaxation practice that gently keeps you aware in the space between waking and sleeping, promoting deep rest and mental clarity.

The practice invites you to lay comfortably in a cosy safe environment, possibly on a bed or a yoga mat, covered with blanket. Then you’re guided through simple breath awareness, a body scan, simple visualisations and a short intention (sankalpa) to release tension, quiet the mind and reset the whole system. Unlike focused meditation, it asks you to gently notice sensations, thoughts and feelings without changing them. This calms the nervous system, brings deep rest, can improve sleep, reduce stress and help process emotions. It’s beginner-friendly, needs no flexibility, and sessions run from about 10 minutes to 30–60 minutes.

This gentle class helps you transition from busy to balanced so you can show up refreshed for whatever the weekend brings. Perfect for beginners and all levels.

What to expect:

Slow, supported poses

Props encouraged: bolsters, blocks, blankets, eye pillow

Breath-focused guidance to activate relaxation

Guided Yoga Nidra with calming cues

Tips for deeper restoration:

Use an eye pillow or scarf to block light and cue rest.

Keep the breath audible and slow; a 4–6 second exhale helps the parasympathetic system.

Keep your practice cosy: warm socks, a blanket over the body, and a quiet, dim space.
